The League of Women Voters
of Westmoreland County
Our Brief History

The League of Women Voters of Westmoreland County is a newly formed league and was officially recognized as a member-at-large league under the guidance of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania (LWVPA) in August of 2021.

Critical to the LWVWC progressing to full league status has been the work of ten volunteers who stepped forward to draft Bylaws, create Nonpartisan and DEI policies, and establish an organization structure.

In June 2022, the LWVWC was recognized as an independent league by the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania (LWVPA) and League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS)

With this start, the LWVWC has grown to more than 50 members.

LWVWC is a nonprofit corporation in Pennsylvania.  LWVWC is also a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so gifts are tax deductible and eligible for employer matching funds.

With Your Support We Can Continue To Work For You
To expand the League’s effectiveness in promoting informed and active participation in government, LWVWC welcomes new members and is actively developing relationships among current members as we increase our community outreach.  LWVWC is seeking stable funding to support our work.

The League is a nonpartisan grassroots organization that believes people can make profound changes in their communities through informed actions.

League members work to provide voter services, educate the public and advocate for issues that matter.
The League is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in our organization.
