Join the League of Women Voters of Westmoreland County

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is known on a county level for providing voters services and civic education, including voter registration events, information on how to vote in upcoming elections and important voting deadlines, non-partisan information about candidates, and organizing candidate forums. 

The LWVWC is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in our organization. 

Everyone, age 16 and older, is welcome to join. Join LWVWC

Membership lasts 12 months.   

Several levels of membership are available. 

  • Individual membership: $60
  • Household Membership for Two Members: $90 / Each additional member in a household: $30
  • Age 35 and under membership: $35 (birth date required)
  • Student membership: FREE! (birth date, accredited school, and expected graduation date required)

If you prefer to join or renew by mail with a check or money order, please click on the mail-in form:  Mail-in Membership Application or Renewal
Print the form, fill it out, and mail it to the address provided. 

LWVWC is a 501(c)(3) public charity, so fees and donations are tax deductible and are eligible for employer matching funds.  Most of the annual membership fees that the LWVWC collects must be paid to LWVUS and LWVPA to support their important work.  LWVWC only retains about $8.00 per member.  We appreciate any additional donations to help us finance our local league operations and activities.  Donate to LWVWC

THE LEAGUE PROVIDES NON-PARTISAN SERVICES TO VOTERS
● Registers citizens to vote
● Provides information on how to vote in upcoming elections and important election deadlines
● Provides non-partisan candidate information through VOTE411.org 
● Organizes public candidate forums prior to elections

THE LEAGUE PROVIDES NON-PARTISAN INFORMATION TO CITIZENS
● Presents public forums on current topics
● Conducts interviews with local legislators
● Invites experts to speak at member meetings
● Provides civics lessons at local schools

THE LEAGUE CONDUCTS STUDIES ON CURRENT ISSUES
● Coordinates study groups on specific issues: researches and consolidates data, leading to consensus for advocacy positions
● Informs the members of significant happenings on issues

THE LEAGUE TAKES ACTION AND ADVOCATES
● Lobbies elected officials based on established advocacy positions in the areas of government function, natural resources, and social policy
● Publicizes non-partisan stances based on League’s policy positions on current issues
● Submits letters to the editor and op-eds to local newspapers
● Encourages members to contact their representatives as individuals
● Collaborates with other like-minded organizations
